The Rajasthan Royals Look Set to Win the Cup This Year!

The cricketing league of the season has arrived, and is currently underway all over India. In what is one of the most competitive sporting events, the IPL is certainly becoming one of India’s premier cricketing events. With eight teams representing different regions and states, the league is quickly heating up!

The eight regions being represented in the tournament are Mumbai, Rajasthan, Kolkata, Delhi, Punjab, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai. What makes the league a true delight is the dynamic mix of players from all over the world, with international names playing alongside domestic youngsters. The Kolkata Knight Riders took home the cup last year, but this year, two teams seem set to go for glory- the Rajasthan Royals and the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Led by their Australian captain, Shane Watson, the Royals have a balanced side, with names like Ankit Sharma, Brainder Sran, Rajat Bhatia, Stuart Binny, Ben Cutting, James Faulkner, Deepak Hooda, Dhawal Kulkarni, Vikramjeet Malik, Chris Morris, Ajinkya Rahane, Karun Nair, Abhishek Nayar, Sanju Samson, Steve Smith, Tim Southee, Pravin Tambe and Rahul Tewatia, among others. The Rajasthan Royals’ 2015 season track record is impressive, with them winning each of their five games, and leading the points table with a solid ten points. They have won against frontrunning teams like the Chennai Super Kings, Kings XI Punjab, Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils, by exceptional margins and stellar performances on the field.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad are another team to watch out for in the tournament, with deadly South African pacer Dale Steyn and others, the team has a decent bowling line up. Other names on the team include Shikhar Dhawan, Trent Boult, David Warner, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Eoin Morgan, Kane Williamson, Karan Sharma, Naman Ojha, Praveen Kumar and many more. They have lost three of their four games, winning against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Their track record has been a little shaky, but they finally seem to be coming together and functioning as a unit. They will soon be playing the Kolkata Knight Riders, in the ACA-VDCA Stadium in Vishakhapatnam.

Both teams are prepared to give it their all, as is evident from their playing styles. However, if the Sunrisers want a victory, then batsman David Warner must perform to his fullest potential and ace bowler Dale Steyn must be economical and efficient in taking his wickets quickly. Rajasthan must look to keep the wins coming, and rely a little less on Shane Watson and James Faulkner.
